The biggest thing Apple has to overcome is overpriced hardware. You can go to newegg.com and build a much much faster box for half the price running ubuntu or fedora and with wine 1.0 coming out it's going to change the game a bit. I am not a Mac fan because they lock you into their cult. Their hardware, their style, Job's way he sees you living your life. Granted they are much better than Microsoft, I just get turned off by the whole "cool guy" factor. Also itunes totally blows. It's slow and that shitty apple updater bullshit? I switched everything to songbird and never looked back. Yes they make a great OS and the ipod can't be beat.
